Search Engine Optimisation
What Is SEO and How Does It Work?
SEO is a lead generation tool.
People use Google to determine who to buy from and using Search Engine Optimisation we can make sure that it's you they find first.
Today, Google processes over 40,000 searches PER SECOND. That’s over 3.5 BILLION searches per day.
SEO involves using Google’s tools to research what your target market is searching for and then optimising elements of your website, often code and content, so that Google sees you as being the more relevant and more authoritative source on that topic.
SEO differs completely from other marketing strategies because it varies so often. We’ve kept up with these changes over the years and amended our strategies accordingly. SEO strategies are also in some ways at the whim of search engines – especially Google. Essentially, abiding by Google’s rules, policies, and recommendations will get you the results you want, better positions in the search results, more traffic, more leads and more sales.
At Bambrick Media, we’ve found that focusing on your user above all else has yielded the best results.
Are you an insurance company that wants to sell more car insurance? Then make that a core part of your navigation. Are you a Law Firm that wants more conveyancing work? Then make sure you have plenty of content about conveyancing, your services, and other related topics. SEO is about more than just basic content changes, however, regardless of the SEO changes needed, we will always prioritise the user above all else.
SEO also transcends to other areas on the web. From social media to Google Maps, PR, and your general online presence.
SEO has the potential to generate more leads than any other marketing strategy today, however, it requires a long-term focus, a comprehensive effort, and a collaborative approach.
At the end of the day, it comes down to relevancy. If you’re an online clothes boutique, you’re never going to be a top result when someone searches “table lamps Brisbane” (and rightfully so). Equally, if you don’t make it clear through the content on your site that you are, in fact, an online clothes boutique, then you won’t appear when someone searches a related term.
Through in-depth analyses, a tailored strategy, and committed execution, Bambrick Media partners with you to make sure your campaign is a success.
What You Can Expect
Campaign Strategy Meeting:
This kick off meeting for your SEO campaign can be either in person or over the phone and is where you and your dedicated account manager will discuss your campaign, your goals, and everything needed to get started.
Google Services Setup:
- Google Analytics: If you don’t already have Google Analytics for your website, we’ll get this set up for you. If you do, we’ll work with you to gain access and set up everything necessary to get this tracking for you.
- Google Search Console: Google Search Console allows website owners to gain real insight into indexing, 404 errors, structured data markup, and other really important data that you should keep track of on your website. We’ll get this verified and setup for your website.
- Google My Business Page: If you don’t already have a Google My Business Page, we’ll set this up for you. It’s really important to be visible in Google results for more than just your website; this is where Google My Business comes in. It will also make you visible in Google maps. If you already have this setup, we’ll review and optimise the page where possible.
- XML Sitemap submission: Submitting your XML sitemap to Google is really important to jump start or reignite the indexing process. We’ll submit this to Google, and if you don’t have an XML sitemap already, we’ll get this set up and installed during the implementation stage.
This is when you receive the recommendations for the best keywords to target for your SEO campaign. These keywords have been rigorously researched, strategised, and recommended to you based on a number of factors. The most important of these factors is relevancy over popularity, meaning that we always recommend keywords that are more likely to get you leads over just traffic. This means the keywords are later in the buying cycle, closer to when people want to buy, meaning you’re spending your hard earned dollars on a campaign that’s more likely to actually get you sales.
Once you’re happy with your keywords (which forms the basis of your campaign), we get to work on the keyword mapping. This is where we determine the best pages to target specific keywords on your website, based on the most relevant and authoritative pages to send traffic to. This will be outlined the report that you receive later in the campaign (SEO Content & Structural Report).
Local Optimisation Report:
You’ll receive a local optimisation report if you have a physical business address that you’re happy to advertise to the public. This is where we create and/or optimise existing local business listings across the web with your business information. The most important of these includes Yelp, BING, Apple Maps, and the Yellow Pages, however, there are more. This helps build your authority with Google, as the data in these listings will correlate with the data in your Google My Business listing, therefore making your business more credible.
SEO Content & Structural Report:
These reports outline all our recommendations for your SEO campaign. They explain the technical and content-related changes that need to be made to your website. We’ll present this to you to review, and if you have any amendments we will work together to get it 100% right before the changes are made to your website.
Once you’ve approved the recommendations and changes to your site, it’s time to implement. We can either implement these changes for you or work with your existing web team to get the changes made. Once completed, we do a complete quality check to ensure that everything was implemented correctly.
From here, we’ll start to see a steady increase in your rankings. Combine that with the distribution of content providing valuable backlinks to your site, and over the following months, we’ll start to see your website increase in the search results.
